Girl Gang Sheffield are launching an online campaign called #SeeMySelfie, which will explore how photography affects women’s confidence.

Every day in May participants will take a photo of themselves based on a theme – from taking a famous no make-up selfie to snapping a photo that shows the real you.
“By getting everyone to include a caption about their feelings towards the photo, we can find out if selfies make women more self-confident or whether they’re nothing more than a form of vanity,” said Megan Marie Griffith, the Executive Producer of Girl Gang.
All the photos will later be used as part of a touring exhibition that will showcase different women’s reactions to their photos.
“We really hope that people will end up going on a journey of self-understanding with this project and that we’ll all learn something from it.”

They host events that promote creativity, collaboration, confidence and positivity amongst women.
“We want a diverse range of woman involved,” said Megan. “Different ages, races and sexual orientations. We also want people who don’t normally take selfies to get on board.”
Here’s Megan explaining more about the project.
