PFTP volunteer shows company name proudly |
Based in Shalesmoor, Party for the People (PFTP) has been donating all profits from its online ticket sales to both local and global causes.
They have also been holding fundraising concerts across the city.
Liam O’Reilly, a PFTP Trustee said, “The government are struggling to provide enough funding to meet everyone’s social needs so we’re plugging the gap – allowing local people to give back to their local area.”
One of the charities that benefit from PFTP’s generosity is Turning Point, a Sheffield based organisation that provides vital health and well-being checks to the city’s homeless.
Turning Point’s service manager James Atkinson said: “Party for the People hosted a concert to help raise money for us. We then used that money to help get people off the streets and into temporary accommodation, they've been a massive help.”
To allow PFTP to help more good causes, the company have set up their own charitable trust.
Liam said: “The foundation will increase the amount of time and money we can give to charity.”
The development of the foundation has also created several new jobs. These workers will provide PR and promotion for all the charities they help, free of charge.
“We’ll never stop giving back to society,” said Liam, “We will only get more productive in raising money and helping those in need.”
