Welsh indie-rock band Catfish and the Bottlemen have been announced as the Sunday headliner at this year’s Tramlines festival.
The event set to take place 22-24 July will see the four-piece take to the stage in Ponderosa Park in front of 15,000 people.
The band said: “We’re absolutely buzzing to be headlining Tramlines this year, in fact it’s an honour.”
The band are notorious for their high-energy sets and have sold out venues countrywide. Renown for big guitars and anthemic choruses, Catfish and the Bottlemen have caught the imaginations of fans young and old.
“We can remember our first time performing at Tramlines like it was yesterday. We were in SOYO with the Broken Hands lads watching Kieran Gallagher crowd-surfing and pulling the chandeliers down.”
They joined the bill along with Sheffield band The Crookes and Blessa. Adding to already diverse line-up which includes Friday night headliner, Dizzee Rascal, as well as Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers and Field Music.
With over 100,000 festival-goers descending on the city’s music venues last year and having gained several awards for their hard work, Tramlines’s organisers are aiming to make this year’s festival the biggest yet.
A full-weekend ticket costs £42 (includes after party access) or just £23 for a single day ticket.
